David Rumsey Historical Map Collection

Just added a fantastic map from 1844 of South East Australia from the David Rumsey Historical Map Collection. The map is licensed under a Creative Commons license.

If you haven't heard of David Rumsey before you have a real treat waiting for you. He has been at the cutting edge of mapping technology for many years, has won international awards, and gave a ground breaking presentation way back in 2005.

Journeys Goes Live!

It's official, as of this morning with only minutes to spare before the App My State deadline closed, Journeys took its first steps into the www. It's early days but we are already getting very excited about the potential this site has for encouraging the exploration of cultural heritage using Google Earth as a platform.

If you are using kmz/kml files for research, education and/or recreation please let us know...and if you have the appropriate copyright clearance (e.g. Creative Commons) maybe consider adding them to the Journeys library for all to see!
